Altezza della pianta: 15-20cm
Small deciduous shrub, it can reach a height of between 1 and 4 m. Vitex agnus castus is characterized by a resinous and aromatic scent. The stem is sinuous and branched at the base, the bark is brown. The leaves are palmate and opposite, the lower surface is whitish while the upper one is dark green. The inflorescences are apical spikes up to 30 cm long composed of small lilac-colored flowers, pleasantly scented. The fruit is a 3-4 cm drupe of black-reddish colour, very aromatic.
Pedoclimatic needs
It adapts to all types of soil, as long as it is well drained, fresh and light. Prefers exposure in full sun. Quite rustic plant, it tolerates the cold well up to a temperature of -13°/-15°C.
